remember me mentioning how our little bugger, you know … A … well, he climbed our kitchen chairs. and yes, the next day, so did our other little bugger (let’s call him J). and i’m sure that was fun for a few days. but now, things have changed. our kitchen chairs have drastically changed in numbers. there were four, now there’s only two. and for some reason they’re not properly pushed in under the table as they should be. wait, scratch that. they are underneath the table, just not standing as they should be. we have to lay them down so that our two little buggers won’t climb them. which really wasn’t all that bad. it’s not that far to the ground from the chairs. but the view from atop of the table is totally different. which is where they will be if they have kitchen chairs to climb on.
unfortunately, our office has now turned into that room where we keep all the stuff we can’t put anywhere else.

the boys are starting to boycott their afternoon nap. meaning:
- no more hour-long walks in rain, sleet and/or snow – yay!!
- no more afternoon coffee breaks – yikes, how will i survive??!!

our little bugger (let’s call him A) has decided that he needs to see the world from a higher angle, i.e. our kitchen chairs. i’m minding my own business making apple sauce and i feel that something is amiss. i turn around and see A on his knees on a chair. my heart literally stopped for a few seconds. oh my, i was dreading this day and now it’s here. come tomorrow, i’m sure i’ll have two climbing buggers instead of one.
ps. killer apple sauce, by the way.

M and i had decided long ago, before the kids were even a fact, that we would never let toys infiltrate our house. so … what happened? they’re everywhere. there are just too many of them. and i have no idea how that happened. ok … so, maybe i do. you know, i wouldn’t mind all the toys, if it weren’t for the tripping and the slipping and the apparent need for a 14-month-old boy to throw them as far as humanly possible. oh, and two boys that clean up all the toys they felt the need to strew all over our livingroom floor.

can you believe it’s actually been a whole year since the whole huffing and puffing incident?! i sure can’t. we chose not to do the whole birthday party thing with tons of kids. it just felt way too stressful. no, our first birthday party with the boys was to be celebrated with family and friends. which wasn’t stressful at all! whose idea was it anyway to make TWO birthday cakes? who decorated this house with a thousand balloons? and whose idea was it to buy a toy ark with tons of toy animals that hurt like hell when you accidentally trip over them?
note to self: birthday party with adults not necessarily less stressful than house full of kids.
we took tons of pictures, of course (thanks lars) but unfortunately, after sorting through all of them, i realized there wasn’t one of me with the kids. bummer.
